How the week was won

It's Friday again and even better it's pay day. An important thing when living in a city where a sandwich costs the average weekly wage of a chinese labourer. Though they do make them very tasty. I think the british have mastered the art of the sandwich. You can get long life sandwiches from the fridge in the news agents, gourmet sandwiches from various chain coffee and sandwich stores, and custom deli creations (usually with too much mayonaise) from the corner sandwich bar.
Pret and starbucks have just brought out their new christmas selection. The Gingerbread latte is pretty nice, and the christmas sandwich with turkey stuffing and cranberry is a good way to store up some christmas cheer.

It was a good night out on Tuesday with my friend Ann and her partner. (followed by a good bacon and egg sandwich for breakfast as my celebrated hang over cure). We were at Garlic and shots, which wasn't as good as I remember. But still had much garlicy goodness in both the shots and the dinner.

As I didn't manage to excercise the camera this week, so I thought I might just try to slip in a few of the holiday photos and hope no one notices.

Autumn is catching up with me

After such a lovely autumn, the weather has decided to completely change it's mind. One minute you can wear a Tshirt, next I'm starting to wonder how long it takes to get frostbite on the fingers. And we may even get a blizzard next week.
This is the view from the apartment window. So cold and foggy.

Here are some nice photos from the weekend, as we walk through greenwich to find the farmers market. We are looking for apples. Some people will say that apples is apples. But, with all things once you have tasted the "really good" apple, it is really no effort to get up early on a sunday and wander up the freezing hillside to get more.

You never saw the thames so bright and clear.

Yes that really is frost on the grass.

Home Sweet Home

Today is broadband day. This is my excuse for not blogging for a while, but now broadband is my friend and there is free (well affordable) broadband for all. Excuse me if I rant. This is the beginning of my third week at work and I am of course far too obsessed. And really tired. One of the benefits and flaws of a new job is that you don't know anything. This means that I get to learn so much, which is fun and exciting and frustrating and draining.
There is too much work to do, but I like too much work to do. It is disorganised, which gives your own ideas more power. It's going to give me a laptop for home, which means I have to do 3am releases, but I can wath DVDs too.
All in all Dave and I are happy, but tired and only just starting to get a life.
