The internet is full

Hotmail is gone. I get redirected to the msn "this url does not exist - want to search for another" page. Bizzare. I don't check my hotmail that often, but today I need to get the password that trenitalia sent me. Aparently you need a password to book a train ticket.

We are going to catch the eurostar - no the other one in Italy. It will take us in comfortable european fashion from Roma to Napoli. We will hang out with the Neapolitans and eat pizza. Some beaches and archeological sites may be experienced while eating pizza.

Trenitalia has a fairly nice site. It was quite easy to use even though the English page was a minefield of italian listings and buttons. I made it through the reservation mostly by guessing what the italian words meant. The technology was nice though, it asked me if I would like to be sent an SMS. I typed in my number and pressed the SMS button and I thought it rejected my british number. But to my surprise, I get the SMS a few minutes later. Excellent. There were a few upside down questionmarks, but now I know I will be in carrozza 1 going Roma Termini a Napoli centrale.

Duck(ling) Season

Cherries are back in season. Dave bought me this little baggie from the fruit seller near his office (proving to be a good dealer). Cherries are available all year round from expensive places. But "in season" cherries, are a quantum leap in flavour. I will say to you ... HMMMM ... and screw up my face in that blissful way. May my house be littered with pips for as long as the season lasts.

And in other things spring like. The Swans on the raft in the secret lake, are no longer looking like big white rocks. They have brought some presents in the shape of some very ugly ducklings.

Just a thought though. Duck-ling gos-ling cygnet- why not swanling. Every other bird has a chick. Is it a swimming thing?

Mother's day

Being on the other side of the world, it is often hard to keep track of mother's day. But with a little hinting from daddy, I managed to put a smile on mummy's face this year.

The longest season

How long is a piece of string? It seems to be just as long as the rugby season is. Though I have to admit the late games are much better to watch. I get to sit in the sun under a tree, rather than stamping my feet in beanie and gloves.

Dave often returns with aches, bruises and scrapes. This time my husband has broken his ring finger. It is all black and swollen.

So of course after the game he heads to pub. Since he is such a sexy man and without the wedding ring, he is soon surrounded by a gaggle of interested suitors. He spent half the night showing them his wallet with a ring shaped contour in the leather. Honest, I'm married, It's not just a supersized condom.
