The queen of hearts says we can stay

My passport has come back to me. I was starting to get a little worried about it as it had been out on it's own for some time. It returned to me like a loyal retriever with a fresh bright new sticker saying the Queen of Hearts will let me stay for a while in Wonderland.
Excellent. Now I can plan a trip to the land of Oz, to meet the wizard, or maybe some munchkins depending on how people align themselves with the OZ ethos.

Is there a blog quiz for that. What character from OZ are you ?

Torchwood

I thought I should specifically watch the first episodes of Torchwood, just so I could mention it first in front of all you WHO fans. HeHehe I am evil.
They showed the pilot and the first episode back to back. It was BBC Three so no commercials - yay.
The pilot was fairly mediocre, and the first episode "Didn't Suck". It is looking for a bizzare new middle ground between Doctor Who and the X-Files. I am not sure which way it will go. As always with a new show the actors still need to find their characters more.
Saying all that, I was gleefully snuggled into the sofa to watch it and had to run to and fro the kitchen so I didn't miss any while I got a snack. I was smiling and laughing at the jokes, and generally felt positive afterwards.

October is slipping through my fingers

A lot of October is happening without me emerging from the tiredness at the end of the day. Some exciting things have happened. Paul and Helen visited me and brought me all the gossip from New Zealand. I also caught up with Mr Anotherblog as he was swinging through on his adventures.

The Home Office is still holding my passport hostage. I thing it is some kind of grudge "so you wannna stay here do you, ha ha ha, well stay then". This is making it little difficult to visit the beautiful niece Rachel, who I was hoping to catch up with in November. We are making some plans for Christmas and keeping our fingers crossed.

Thank you all for your birthday well wishes. 2006 is a good year.

Birthday flowers

Thanks Gavin and Helena

Dave bought me a new bag and some nice clothes. And the decadent weekend in Edinburgh, we had room service and big fluffy towelling robes.

Home grown tomatoes

I ate one of my first tomatoes of the season. I don't have very many. It is only a very small balcony, and I started a little late. But I have four - make that three now - bright round tomatoes on my bench, there are a couple left on the tree too. There is something about them that makes them taste better than even the vine ripened selection.

Early in the summer I squeezed some tomato seeds out of some tasty vine ripened tomatoes that I bought. After remembering to water, I got lots of little tomatoes that I moved around the three pots I have on the balcony. The tomato I ate today was very dense. The seeds were packed much tighter than it's parent.
