Bond is really buff.

How did they all get such good hands.

Some scenes should not be watched by men with sensitive constitutions.

How could you do that to such a pretty Aston Martin.

Someone should reallllly cut that extended romance segment. We are not here to watch happy families.

Luggage

I travel in two days and I do not yet have the necessary luggage. My backpack is not appropriate, I need one of those modern pull along numbers.

So starts the luggage problem. I spent an hour in John Lewis looking at luggage. They have quite a bit in different shapes and sizes. the new boat luggage, which is some kind of large gym bag with hard bottom and sides and a pullalong handle. The 4 wheel japanese style, the two wheel pull-along, two wheel suit bag, hard cover, soft cover, fancy patterns and designer look. etc etc etc.

John Lewis is remarkably free of sales people. So I spend my hour opening, testing pockets and pulling them around the shop to get the feel of it. Initially I felt there was nothing I liked, then I found one thing, then two then hey that one's better. Until I get to the new model Samsonite with the 4 wheels and orange trim. It is nice..... Then I leave the store.

How much should you invest in luggage? I've travelled with a backpack and a bag without wheels that I just dragged about. Do I need to spend £175 on the new Samonsite, or £70 on the perfectly fine John Lewis two wheeler. In contrast you can pick up a two wheeler from a street seller for £15.

I saw the space alien today. The human eye is good at discerning patterns from moving shadows of black and white. It is definately there, twisting and turning in it's dark cocoon. It even waved at me.

The monsters keep trying to eat me

Monster Hunter Freedom spends a lot of time showing you how to butcher innocent herbivores, go fishing and study herbology. Just when I think it is a nice game centred around collecting wildflowers, the monsters start to eat me.
I think this is largely unfair.
I had tried to get a better sword, after all what else is money for. I took it out and discovered that I could hardly lift it and kept on missing those darting blue veliciprey. Running away is a good tactic. And I really don't like those charging pigs.

What is the deal with the crazy cat things anyway.

Cold

After a very mild Autumn it has finally become cold enough for the leaves to think about falling off the trees. The time has come to rip up those last valiant tomato plants with those last valiant tomatoes. I have bought a big tub of bulbs to plant before the first frost. I am not sure how much frost there gets on my balcony, so probably any time before I head for OZ is good enough. I am a little worried taht all the bulbs will not fit in my 3 pots. The principle I am working to is that dirt is overratted when it comes to bulbs as they have all the energy to grow stored inside them. So technically as long as I can put a layer of dirt over the top, the rest of the pot can be packed tight with bulbs.
